History

In order to meet the growing needs of providing quality education at reasonable cost to children of Defence Services employees, a miniature but progressive school by the name of NDA English School was established at National Defence Academy on 2nd Feb 1955.

 

It was a regimental school providing educational facilities to employees of NDA and its allied units. It was registered under SOCIETY REGISTRATION ACT in 1976 & by Zila Parishad in 1980. The school was till Class V and started following CBSE syllabus wef 2000.

 

Need for Army Public School was felt to enable children of defence personnel to get admission into good schools after being posted out of NDA. NDA English School was finally closed down on 20th March 2012.

 

Army Public school started on 1st April 2012. The school presently is part of prestigious Army welfare Education Society A humble initiative in 1955 has transformed into a giant leap today. School presently 29 classrooms from I to X & has a strength of over 1200 students.
